Sub-sea study contract for Jee

Posted on 18 Oct 2014 and read 1982 times
Sub-sea study contract for JeeJee, a company that has offices in Tonbridge and at Westhill, near Aberdeen, has won a Scottish Enterprise contract to develop sub-sea electrical cabling for tidal-energy projects. It is one of five firms involved; its share of the work is worth nearly £139,000.

A Jee spokesman said: “The contract is part of a pioneering study for the marine-energy industry in Scotland. It will see Jee develop solutions for locating, securing, protecting and recovering electrical array cables for tidal-energy installations.

"The cables will transport power generated from tidal-energy devices deployed in high tidal-flow areas to the shore.”

Managing director Trevor Jee said that the company’s success in winning the contract was down to “decades of experience in providing innovative, sub-sea engineering services to the expanding renewables industry.”
