Polaris Industries has announced the opening of its new manufacturing facility in Opole, Poland. The 345,000ft
2 facility will be the first Polaris plant dedicated to manufacturing off-road vehicles (ORVs) outside North America.
Employee training has already begun at the Opole facility, which will employ 300 people at the outset and should begin shipments to customers in the first quarter of 2015.
The plant will produce about 35 different ORV models in 2015 and ship them to six subsidiaries and over 30 distributors in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Scott Wine, Polaris chairman and CEO, said: “With a stated goal of a third of our total company sales outside North America, the Opole facility is a cornerstone for our international growth plans. It provides both a timely capacity increase and a localised manufacturing presence that allows us to spur on-going growth in the EMEA region.”
