The Hadley Group — the independent manufacturer of cold-rolled steel — has expanded the production space at its Smethwick facility.

Playing on its 10 Downing Street address, the company has added a life-size facia of the Prime Minister’s official residence to the front of its building; this will stay in place until after the 2015 General Election.

CEO Stewart Towe said: “It may be a tongue-in-cheek association, but Downing Street in Smethwick has been home to all of Hadley Group’s important decision-making since the business was established 50 years ago. Today, it’s our global headquarters, and four of our international manufacturing centres are based here.

“The decision to expand into the full production space available at our very own ‘Number 10’ was a highly strategic and necessary one, enabling us to manage the significant growth that is being enjoyed across the business. The entire bay has been re-designed to accommodate cranes and operate as a full-scale production facility.”
