Generation Growth Capital Inc, a Milwaukee-based private-equity group, has acquired Atlantic Precision Inc of St Lucie in Florida (financing was provided by FNB Fox Valley).

Operating from a new 35,000ft2 facility, Atlantic uses additive manufacturing technologies to prototype and then provide low-volume aerospace parts.

It will become part of Generation Growth’s Model 2 Machine Group — set up to assist OEM customers with development and production. Other companies in the group include M2M Machining Inc, Mica Tool & Manufacturing, Tri Aerospace and Clinkenbeard Inc.

M2M CEO Chuck Madore said: “The acquisition of Atlantic Precision really solidifies our aerospace-industry capabilities. The addition of direct-metal laser sintering, multi-axis wire EDM and additional five-axis machining capacity rounds out the current offerings at Clinkenbeard and Tri Aerospace. All three companies have already begun to work in concert, and we are quite excited to drive the Model 2 Machine Group strategy forward.”

Tim Ritter, president and co-owner of Atlantic Precision, said that he approached Generation Growth because of his company’s complementary aerospace operations with its M2M group. “Having worked with Tri Aerospace on past projects, we understood how our respective companies could come together to bring a broader array of services and production capabilities under a common ‘touch-point’ for our customers.”
