Swedish tooling company Sandvik Coromant has opened a new 4,500m2 global meeting centre in Sandviken. This is one of the world’s largest centres for productivity, application, machining and research in manufacturing, and is part of a major investment (22 million euros) that will also cover the opening of a similar new centre in Beijing, China.
Klas Forsström, global president, said: “We have created a world-class meeting place that we are convinced is needed by the manufacturing industry. It is a centre for everyone who is interested in productivity gains, cutting-edge research innovations and the future for global manufacturing.”
It is estimated that the new centre will introduce 6,000 visitors a year to the latest technology, new products, engineering competence and customised solutions.
Moreover, they will be able to connect to other centres in the world and participate in various training activities — joining over 30,000 individuals trained by Sandvik Coromant every year.
