New £3 million Filtermist factoryFiltermist International has appointed Morris Property to build a new £3 million factory on the Telford 54 business park.

The 1,918 sq m building, which will act as the company’s global headquarters, will include 848 sq m of office space along with production, warehousing and dispatch facilities. The company plans to move from its current premises in Bridgnorth by next July.

Filtermist’s products are used to remove the oil mist generated by a number of manufacturing processes in industries as diverse as aerospace, automotive, medical and food processing.

The Swedish-owned company exports over 90% of its output to more than 60 countries world-wide through a network of international distributors.

Operations director Randall Taft, who is responsible for managing the project, said: “As a company with its roots in Shropshire, we are keen to work with local suppliers wherever possible.

Morris Property has a wealth of experience in constructing buildings of this type, and we’re confident that the team’s expertise will prove invaluable as the build progresses.”

Work on the new building began on 21 October with an official ground-breaking ceremony. Telford 54 is next to the M54 motorway and about 10 miles from Jaguar Land Rover’s new engine plant in Wolverhampton.
