Sheffield-based Loadhog, which makes transit packaging products, won the People Effectiveness category at this year’s Institution of Mechanical Engineers Manufacturing Excellence Awards.
The company’s success followed a site visit by the judges; they chatted to many of the 60 employees, who are all owners of the business.
Awards chairman Christopher Simpson said: “People are at the centre of the Loadhog business, with all new recruits required to buy shares. When they visited the Loadhog headquarters, the judges were impressed with the confidence of the employees, plus their loyalty to the company. It is a huge achievement that the company has a 99.4% attendance record.”
Managing director Ed Stubbs said: “We are delighted to have gained such prestigious recognition of the business and culture that we are creating at Load-hog, which is entirely due to the passion and commitment of our employees. Congratulations to them all.”
