The CNC Training Academy, which is a part of Mills CNC, has appointed Andrew Myhill as its business development manager. His role will be to help the organisation achieve its ambitious growth plans and will involve: raising the profile of the Academy with UK and Irish manufacturers of precision components; promoting the Academy’s comprehensive range of standard, advanced and specialist CNC training courses to potential customers; and positioning the Academy as a strategic training partner to those companies looking to address their in-house skills shortages by investing in Fanuc, Heidenhain and Siemens CNC programmer and operator training.
Mr Myhill, who for the past eight years was managing director of Fanuc UK CNC, said: “The CNC Training Academy is successful. Since it was created back in 2010, sales have grown exponentially year on year. However, 55% of its turnover derives directly — and not surprisingly — from Doosan machine tool sales. My role is focused on growing business with users of non-Doosan machine tools. With an already excellent reputation in the market combined with the Academy’s experienced and dedicated team and backed by Mills CNC’s considerable resources, I am confident that we can and will achieve great things.”
The Academy will be increasing its number of ‘state of the art’ training rooms at the Mills CNC Technology Campus (
www.millscnc.co.uk) from two to four; it will also be appointing new CNC trainers.
