Manufactured by the Swiss company Trimos and available in the UK from Camberley-based Bowers group (www.bowers.co.uk), the new V4 digital height gauge range has been designed to deliver highly accurate results in both inspection departments and on the shopfloor.

Available with measuring ranges of 407mm (719mm with extension) and 711mm (1,023 mm with extension), the multifunctional height gauges offer a number of features.

These include an electronically adjustable measuring force, gauge movement by means of a friction-free air cushion, both RS232 and USB interfaces and, due to the use of very efficient lithium-ion batteries, 40hr of use between recharging.

The V4 series uses a large Trimos two-line Black Mask display that offers good levels of clarity and contrast under all lighting conditions. Furthermore, the display gives access to a wide range of functions, including step heights, OD, ID and centre-line measurement; it also allows accurate flatness and perpendicularity checks to be made.

All functions are easily accessed and depicted by a series of logical symbols which ensure that users can achieve a short learning curve and be quickly achieving precise results, even when measuring complex components.
