WNT tooling developments on showWNT (UK) www.wnt.com/uk will highlight a number of innovative cutting tool developments on stand S98 at Southern Manufacturing which takes place 10-12 February in Farnborough.

Key among these will be the latest inserts featuring WNT’s legendary, high performance, Dragonskin coating technology. These inserts will benefit from Dragonskin’s increased durability, faster cutting speeds, and improved process security across a range of turning and milling applications.

Dragonskin coating technology enhances tool life in combination with the latest high performance substrates and geometries.

The result is quantifiable productivity gains of up to 80% providing users with a significant competitive advantage. Among these insert developments is a range of turning inserts with an chipbreaker geometry that targets close contour machining and general turning.

The -XU chipbreaker overcomes many machining problems, especially where excellent swarf control is required and is available on inserts in the CNMG, DNMG, VNMG and WNMG ISO insert styles.

In addition to Dragonskin, visitors will also be able to discuss other recent additions to WNT’s extensive range of tooling and workholding systems. These include the latest high feed indexable milling system, the impressive MCR solid carbide cutters that have been designed with Vortex and trochoidal milling strategies in mind, as well as the innovative MNG Zero Point workholding system.

Throughout the exhibition WNT’s Technical Sales Team will be on hand to discuss specific machining issues with visitors and suggest the most efficient and cost-effective cutting tool solutions.
