Combined heat and power (CHP) specialist ENER-G has succeeded in The Manufacturer of the Year Awards — to win the coveted
Through-life Engineering Services Award. This is an accolade previously held by the likes of Rolls-Royce and Monarch Airlines.
ENER-G’s work in encouraging women in engineering and its effective partnerships with the local and wider community, were recognised - together with its investment in workforce training, apprenticeships and graduate programmes - across all aspects of the business.
Judges were impressed by ENER-G’s skill in developing and maintaining robust cogeneration systems that achieve outstanding availability, predictability and reliability with low costs over a long lifetime.
Heather Foster of ENER-G Combined Power Ltd, said: “We’re proud to be a British manufacturer and to gain respect and recognition for our excellence. ENER-G’s specialist in-house engineering, manufacturing and maintenance skills enable our products to operate at peak performance and to have a longer than average operational life. While 12 to 15 years is the normal lifecycle for a CHP machine, many of ENER-G’s systems last well beyond 15 years, with a number of 25-year-old machines still in operation.”
Continuous innovation, including the recent launch of the E-Power two-in-one remote monitoring and control system and energy management system, enables customers to optimise performance of both the CHP system and wider energy plant within a building — providing long-term cost and carbon savings.
Richard Hill, Head of Automotive and Manufacturing at RBS, the headline sponsor of the event, said: “The awards ceremony is an incredible reflection of the diversity, innovation and expertise that British manufacturing has to show. I’d like to congratulate all the winners for their achievements in the awards and also for their contribution to the sector as a whole.
