Morgan Tucker partners Lincoln UTCMorgan Tucker, the Newark-based engineering consultancy, has entered into a partnership with Lincoln UTC (University Technical College).

The company has become an ‘employer-partner’ to the college, which means that it will support 14- to 18-year-old students interested in a career in engineering.

Managing director Matthew Tucker (pictured) said that this partnership reflects the values at the core of his firm. “At Morgan Tucker, we are passionate about ensuring that engineering is seen as an exciting and rewarding career for the next generation of school leavers, and we are keen to get to know as many would-be engineers as possible. Our new partnership with Lincoln UTC means that this passion can be put into action.”

As an ‘employer-partner’, Morgan Tucker is closely involved in the design and delivery of the science and engineering elements of the curriculum at the college. Each course module is delivered ‘hand-in-hand’ with Morgan Tucker, ensuring that the academic and technical education delivered to students is relevant and up to date. This allows students to experience the theoretical elements of their courses in both academic and practical ways.

Mr Tucker added: “Engineering and science offer students strong career opportunities — locally, nationally and internationally. Our link with the college is a positive step for young engineers in the area; it will offer them the business and technical skills they need to get them ready for the work-place. We are looking forward to being closely involved with the design and delivery of the engineering elements of the curriculum at Lincoln UTC.”
