New 2172 Cyber series end-mill lineTamworth-based Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) (www.itc-ltd.co.uk) has extended its line of aluminium milling tools with its new 2172 Cyber series of two-flute ball-nosed end mills for high-feed machining.

The solid-carbide two-flute ball-nosed cutters are manufactured from an ultra-wear-resistant micro-grain carbide, which ensures that edge wear and chipping are minimised and tool life is extended. For manufacturers working on production runs, this gives longevity and consistency with no unforeseen tool change-over requirements.

ITC developed these cutters based on continuous testing and feasibility studies with globally renowned OEMs in the aerospace and motor-sport industries.

The result is a straight-shank, right-hand-helix and centre-cutting range that offers excellent swarf evacuation while delivering high levels of surface finish when cutting at speed. Incorporating a new flute geometry, 2172 cutters quickly remove swarf to ensure that residue around the cutting area will never be an issue.

The overall length of the end mills ranges from 40 to100mm (depending upon the chosen diameter), with the length of cut varying from 12 to 40mm.
