Mercedes-Benz has begun production of its Shooting Brake model at a facility in Kecskemét, Hungary. The car forms a part of the German car maker’s CLA-Class family of four-door luxury saloons launched in 2013.

The Shooting Brake will be the second model to be exclusively manufactured at the three-year-old plant, which has so far produced 300,000 CLA-Class models. A total of 1 billion euros has been invested in the Kecskemét plant, out of which 800 million euros went towards its construction.

Kecskemét plant manager Thomas Geier said: “The entire team of the plant is especially proud of the opportunity to produce the CLA and now the CLA Shooting Brake exclusively for customers around the world. We are aware of the responsibility that comes with it, and we will build on our achievements to date with consistent top performance.”
