Designed for the precision machining of large components, the new Diamond Linear range of five-axis bridge-type machining centres from Gruppo Parpas features linear motors for the X, Y and Z axes, as well as a thermally stable structure that is maintained at a temperature of 21°C.
Available from Nuneaton-based Leader CNC Technologies Ltd (
www.leadercnc.co.uk), the 30,000kg Diamond Linear has a work envelope of 2,200 x 1,500 x 1,000mm and a 2,300 x 1,600mm table.
Moreover, with a maximum spindle nose to table distance of 1,250mm, this new machine has a spacious work area — plus the table accommodates loads up to 20,000kg. The Diamond Linear also has a sliding roof that allows large parts to be loaded by a crane or a fork-lift — a capability that ensures fewer machine and operator collisions.
The machine has a 29kW 22,000rev/min spindle that also delivers a high level of torque for heavy material removal. Furthermore, the spindle head features two rotary axes: a C axis with ±370deg of movement and an A axis with ±105deg of movement. Meanwhile, the linear axes accelerate at 5m/sec to a maximum rapid-traverse rate of 40m/min.
In addition, Leader CNC can supply the Diamond Linear with the option of a built-in rotary table that allows large parts to be turned.
Flexibility is further enhanced by a range of tool carousels with capacities from 24 to 80 tool positions. A laser-based tool-setting probe can also be specified.
