Brighouse-based Millers Oils (
www.millersoils.co.uk), which recently upgraded its R&D facility at a cost of £500,000, has won the biggest contract in its 127-year-old history by becoming the sole lubricant supplier to sports-car manufacturer Caterham Cars.
The upgraded R&D facility has enabled Caterham to monitor the performance and durability of its vehicles’ drive-trains and power-trains, thereby helping to guide component design. The partnership, which covers both road-going and motor-sport vehicles, will see Millers Oils provide a range of advanced lubricants, including engine and transmission oils.
George Campbell, engineering development manager at Caterham, said: “We worked with Millers Oils during the 2014 motor-sport season; we were very impressed with the results and with the technical support that they provided. Their dedication to R&D is exceptional.”
Jason Lavender, business development manager for motor-sport at Millers Oils, said: “We are delighted to develop our technical partnership with Caterham; it is a great testament to our depth of expertise and our product quality.
"Last year, we demonstrated our product capacity and performance in a motor-sport environment —and it is thanks to this that we have built up a great relationship with Caterham. Working this closely with a car manufacturer allows us to increase our development of products that provide innovative solutions to common automotive issues.”
