A new Chamber of Commerce (
www.britishchambers.org.uk) has been formed in Staffordshire, with a brief to provide a wide range of support services to businesses of all sizes and in all sectors.
John Capper — of the John Capper & Co financial-management business — has been elected interim president of the fledgling Staffordshire Moorlands Chamber of Commerce.
He said: “Support is available on the ground to help entrepreneurs start up new businesses. We will also help SMEs and large firms to win new business locally, nationally and internationally. Tailored business training is available for firms to develop their staff and managers.
"We provide a platform for local businesses to work with MPs, local authorities, partner organisations and other business groups to ensure the right conditions for growth and job creation.”
This new Chamber is part of the accredited Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce — the umbrella organisation for six chambers in the county. The first Chamber was established in 1813.
