Vero Software with its CAD/CAM system VISI (
www.visicadcam.com) will be holding an “education innovation event” at the headquarters of Seco Tools (UK) Ltd (
www.secotools.com/uk) on 7 May.
This software supports a combination of applications, including fully integrated wire-frame, surface and solid modelling, plastic-flow-front analysis, 3-D tool design, and comprehensive 2-D, 3-D and five-axis milling strategies.
Sponsored by the GTMA and expected to attract about 100 mould and tool makers, this event will focus on mould-making, the use of new technologies, and how additive manufacturing and traditional methods are raising efficiencies in tool manufacture and the production of finished parts.
The keynote speaker is Graham Thomas, president of the rapid prototyping, additive manufacturing and 3-D printing consultants GP Tromans Associates; he is also the chairman of the UK’s Additive Manufacturing Association.
Neil Mosely (managing director of Hasco UK) will discuss prototype production, Martin Hamill (sales manager of SYS Systems) will look at the 3-D printing of prototype tooling, while Marcel Machado (general manager of Romi UK) will review the status of the UK mould-making industry.
In addition, Hexagon’s Jamie Barnett will present a case study relating to the application of Romer Absolute Arms (portable CMMs).
