Agusta Westland (

The Anglo-Italian business will provide maintenance support to the Royal Navy’s Merlin Mk2 and Mk3 helicopters over the next five years. Many of the safeguarded jobs are at the company’s facility in Yeovil and at the Royal Navy Air Station in Culdrose, Cornwall.
Defence Minister Philip Dunne said: “This investment forms part of the Government’s commitment to investing £11.2 billion in the UK’s helicopter fleet over the next 10 years — as part of a £163 billion plan to provide the very best equipment and equipment support to our troops.”
