Skoda has begun production of the next-generation Superb at its Kvasiny facility in the Czech Republic.
The company has expanded the factory and invested $65 million in a new body production facility. The plant currently employs 4,500 people. In 2014, 166,200 vehicles were produced there, including the Roomster and Yeti models.
Skoda board member Michael Oeljeklaus said: “We are delighted that work is now under way. Starting production of the new Superb is a fantastic moment for the whole company and, in particular, for the Kvasiny plant.
The production of this car proves the high levels of competence of the plant and its employees.” The company is planning to launch the third-generation Superb in June.
