Rugby-based Romi Machines UK (
www.sandretto.co.uk) has appointed Ultrapolymers as its exclusive agent for Ireland — both the Republic and Northern Ireland. The latter will use its established links with moulding companies in Ireland to sell Romi plastic injection moulding machines.
Romi Machines UK has been Brazilian-owned for eight years and sells two ranges of injection moulding machines: the EN series offers clamping pressures of 70-1,500 tonnes; while the EL series of electric machines offers clamping pressures of 70-300 tonnes. Part of the Belgian Ravago Group, Ultrapolymers was established in 2002.
Managing director Jeff Hobbins says: “We felt that by taking on Romi machines in addition to our existing polymer portfolio, we could give our customers an even better machine choice.
“Having already been involved with Romi Machines UK on joint projects, we saw this agency agreement as a great opportunity to take our relationship to a new level, while making good use of our technical know-
how and expertise.”
