The range of ultrasonic high-precision cleaning machines built by the German company Elma is now being sold and serviced in the UK by Alton-based Turbex (
www.turbex.co.uk).
The agreement took effect at the start of 2015, and representative machine models are available for demonstration.
The product programme, which ranges from small bench-top units to bespoke multi-tank cleaning and drying lines with automation, is aimed primarily at high-end cleaning applications in the optics, medical and precision-manufacturing industries.
However, customers are also to be found in the aerospace, automotive, nuclear, electronics and general engineering sectors. A particular feature of Elma machines is their multi-frequency ultrasonics, whereby a single transducer can generate two different ultrasonic frequencies.
Consequently, dissimilar components and materials can be processed optimally in the same tank.
Turbex managing director John Huntingdon said: “We will be focusing on promoting the top-end models in the Elma range, such as the Professional and Precision lines, which can be built up from a single unit into a fully automatic cleaning and drying line.
"The equipment fills a gap in our product range, in that it takes us into very-high-precision cleaning with the possibility of simulated clean-room conditions.”
