Rochester-based Ginsbury Electronics — a supplier of display and power components to customers such as BAE Systems, Honeywell Aerospace, Thales and Rolls-Royce — has been acquired by Leicester-based Solid State (www.sssplc.com).

The latter’s chief executive, Gary Marsh, said: “The Ginsbury business will supplement and enhance our offering in the display area, which will further extend the ruggedised solutions that we are able to offer our client base.

“It will also allow us to more effectively develop our range of higher-cost products and create further opportunities for value-added services in the distribution division.”
