Catalyst Corporate Finance, Birmingham, has advised the shareholders of FT Morrell (www.morrells.co.uk) on the sale of the business to US-based RPM International.

Morrells is the UK’s largest manufacturer of high-performance industrial wood finishes and application equipment. It was founded in 1902, and four generations of the Morrell family have worked in the business.

The company has a manufacturing facility in Stockport and a distribution centre in Nottingham. RPM has subsidiaries that manufacture high-performance coatings, sealants and speciality chemicals.

It employs more than 12,000 people world-wide and operates 94 manufacturing facilities in 24 countries.
