Lancashire-based PTG Holroyd (
www.ptg.ltd) has won a £1.3 million order to supply one of its advanced helical rotor and thread-grinding machine tools to a North American manufacturer of screw compressors. Due to be delivered later this year, the Holroyd TG 350 will be used to precision-grind screw rotors for use in industrial refrigeration.
Sales director Steven Benn says: “Although we are not allowed to name this customer for commercially sensitive reasons, we can reveal that it is part of a multi-billion-dollar global manufacturing organisation and specialises in gas compression technologies. Needless to say, we are delighted to have secured this important order and to have been recognised for the uncompromising standards that our technologies offer. We faced considerable competition during the tendering stages.”
Holroyd’s TG multi-purpose grinding machines offer production rates and accuracies to suit precise manufacturing strategies. Automated on-machine probing provides closed-loop feedback to the dresser wheel, so the machine does not require a high level of operator skill.
