The popularity of the MSV short-magazine bar-feeders in 65 and 80mm capacities prompted Milton Keynes-based Hydrafeed Ltd (www.hydrafeed.co.uk) to extend the capacity range to 110mm with the MSV110.

Like the smaller MSV65 and MSV80, the MSV110 is a full servo-driven bar-feed system that eliminates the need for compressed air by driving the unit’s axes via precision-ground ballscrews to achieve a bar positioning accuracy of 0.1mm.

Additional standard features include bar-length measurement (with the ability to accept random bar lengths), a bar-loading system, a push-rod back-stop facility, and a user-friendly HMI screen to display (up to 100) programs stored in the system.

The new bar-loading mechanism ensures that the bars are ‘soft’ loaded from the storage magazine onto the feed rollers; it can also load irregularly shaped bars or bars with a rough surface finish.

Further simplifying the set-up process is the fact that the MSV110 is fixed to a floor-mounted sliding rail (once the MSV110 has been moved from the home position, the turning centre can be accessed safely).

The MSV110 has a height range of 860-1,300mm, an overall length of 2,180mm, a depth of 1,250mm and an overall weight of 650kg.
