An electrical-engineering specialist based in Doncaster has been bought by Vinci Energies UK, Birmingham (
www.vinci-energies.co.uk).
A spokesman for Vinci said: “The acquisition of Powell Engineering UK is designed to enhance our services. Established in 1978, Powell Engineering provides specialist design, installation and commissioning services to the electrical generation, transmission and distribution industry.
Since entering the electrical-infrastructure market in 2011, we have grown both organically and through acquisition. Welcoming Powell Engineering into our group strengthens our market presence even more.”
Founder David Powell said: “We were attracted by the Vinci Energies business model. We will now be able to grow our business in a sustainable way, while keeping our core characteristics.
“This will increase our market presence within the industry, as well as providing new opportunities by sharing with Vinci Energies our respective wealth of experience and expertise.”
