Strong organic growth at Elta FansKingswinford-based Elta Fans ( — a manufacturer of air movement, filtration, treatment and distribution products, with operations in Europe, Asia, Africa and Australasia — increased its turnover from £91.5 million to £109.8 million in the year to 31 March 2017 (and its pre-tax profits rose from £2.3 million to £3.6 million).

This was attributed to organic growth in the group’s principal markets.

A statement from the board said: “Whereas currency movements have been detrimental to the group’s results in recent years, we have realised a net gain this year.

"Australasia continues to be the largest geographical segment of the group, achieving an overall year-on-year sales growth of 12.2% from improved trading conditions in all our businesses.

"There is also a continued strategic focus on overhead control and on improving productivity and efficiency in our manufacturing units.

“We are also pleased to report that the Fantech business continues to uphold its position as market leader in both Australia and New Zealand.

“Meanwhile, Elta Group Africa continues to perform strongly, as it has done consistently over the last few years, and remains the market leader in the South African ventilation market.”

The company was set up in 1995 and now employs almost 800 people. Its brands include Aerauliqa, Air Design UK, Air Movement Supplies, Airepure and Duct Products.

In November 2016, the company acquired Chester-based Acoustica, which manufactures noise control equipment.
