Black & Decker Inc completes saleThe Burton upon Trent-based Doncasters Group (www.doncasters.com) completed the sale of its Nelson Fastener Systems business to Stanley Black & Decker Inc earlier this month, but it retained the Nelson Automotive stud welding and equipment business as part of its speciality automotive division.

CEO David Smoot said: “We look forward to continuing a very successful relationship with the customers of the automotive stud welding and equipment business, as we focus on delivering exceptional service and value to the stakeholders within our core markets.

“The Nelson Fastener Systems sale is part of Doncasters’ efforts to drive growth by focusing on its core markets — aerospace, industrial gas turbine and specialty automotive. It enables the group to pay down some existing debt and provides capital to further invest in these markets.”
