Swiss sheet metal equipment manufacturer Bystronic, which has a UK subsidiary in Coventry (
www.bystronic.com) and produces fibre laser cutting machines, automation solutions and press brakes for processing flat material, recently announced that it is to take over TTM Laser SpA — the Italian manufacturer of laser-based tube- and profile-cutting machines.
This follows the strategic partnership jointly agreed by the two companies last November; it will see Bystronic enhance its existing range of technologies with the addition of 2-D and 3-D laser systems for cutting profiles and tubes from 12 to 815mm in diameter, as well as with equipment for welding large-format metal sheets.
Based in Cazzago San Martino, TTM Laser has modern production facilities and 40 employees, and it achieved a turnover of about 14 million euros in 2017.
The companies say positive feedback from customers in the five months since the partnership agreement was instigated has shown that there is a strong demand in many markets for even closer collaboration between the two of them.
For the time being, TTM Laser will continue as a brand and will be known as a member of Bystronic.
Bystronic CEO Alex Waser said: “With the fusion of Bystronic and TTM Laser, our customers are gaining access to a range of technologies and innovations for their sheet-metal processing requirements from a single source.
"The goals of the takeover are to jointly push forward innovative and versatile manufacturing solutions and to provide an enhanced range of services.”
