Coventry-based Impression Technologies Ltd (ITL), which has developed a cost-effective way of forming high-strength aluminium, has received £1.5 million of follow-on funding from investment group Mercia Technologies to fund its expansion.
Its patented Hot Form Quench (HFQ) technology is designed for the mass production of complex high-strength aluminium structures for use in the automotive, aerospace, rail and industrial sectors.
The company opened its HFQ production facility in October 2016, and it now supplies around 25,000 components every year to manufacturers that include Aston Martin and Lotus Cars.
