Rugby-based TDT Technology Ltd (www.tdt-machinetools.co.uk) — the official UK and Ireland importer, sales distributor and service agent of leading international machine tool manufacturers that include Kafo, Feeler and Fidia — has appointed Phil Terry as its new sales director.

He joins TDT with 32 years' of experience in the machine-tool industry at companies that include Cincinnati, Dugard and Mills CNC.

A time-served apprentice, Mr Terry started his career in the 1980s as an applications engineer at Cincinnati Milacron.

He spent 15 years based at the company’s Erdington facility in the West Midlands, before moving to Dugard, where he spent 10 years as a sales engineer with responsibility for the Midlands area.

In 2005, he moved to Mills CNC as business manager, overseeing sales across the Midlands region.

Mr Terry says he anticipates markets such as oil and gas fuelling demand for twin-column competitively priced machining centres such as those manufactured by Kafo.
