Birmingham-based MG Motor UK has (www.mg.co.uk) invested £500,000 in its Training Centre and distribution hub in Longbridge to support UK market growth.

Featuring new ‘goods inward’ bays, enhanced shelving and racking for ground-level picking, a new unloading platform for containers and upgrades to the reception and office block, the project gives MG the foundation it needs to support its growth plans.

Having achieved record-breaking sales in 2017, the company has continued to out-perform the market as the UK’s fastest-growing car brand, with sales increasing by 67% in the first quarter of 2018 (compared to the first quarter of 2017).

Part sales have also increased — by more than 62% — prompting MG to extend its distribution and warehousing capabilities to meet the increased demand. New features in the Training Centre include workshop space for 10 vehicles, post hoists to facilitate raised-vehicle work, and insulated flooring for training on electric and hybrid vehicles.
