Rotherham-based Castings Technology International (Cti) has completed the stringent approvals process required to supply titanium castings for use by the civil and defence aerospace industries.

This latest NADCAP accreditation means that the specialist in difficult-to-source low-volume and highly complex titanium castings can supply conventional and centri-spun castings (of any weight up to 500kg) for use in a wide range of critical aerospace applications, such as aircraft engines, aerospace structures and actuation systems.

Cti (www.castingstechnology.com) is one of a limited number of global companies capable of casting highly reactive metals like titanium, which is selected for its high strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance.

The company, which already supplies customers in the UK and USA with a range of parts, has supplemented its NADCAP approvals for NDT processes and vacuum heat treatment with the welding of titanium 6/4 (Grade C5).
