On 1 May, Rugby-based TDT Technology Ltd (www.tdt-machinetools.co.uk) changed its name to TDT Machine Tools Ltd, this reflects the increasing number of leading international machine tool manufacturers that the company now represents in the UK.

Managing director Simon Hewson said: “With a growing portfolio of machine tool solutions for supply to the UK market, the time was right to ensure the company name better matches our product offer.

"We have a very comprehensive range of machine tools that includes a number of familiar brands. We are currently on a strong growth trajectory, and our name change will help the company, as it continues to capture market share.”

A key part of TDT’s offer is the KAFO range of three-, four- and five-axis vertical, horizontal and double-column machining centres, which achieved a number of sales at the recent MACH 2018 exhibition.

Among the models sold were a double-column BMC2015 (displayed on the stand) and a KMC3127 CNC machining centre — the latter to a customer in the North West.

The exhibition also generated considerable interest in TDT’s ranges of Feeler machines, as well as its Italian brands of Fidia, IMT, OMG and Pama. TDT also offers the Proth series of surface-grinding machines.
