Hexagon AB — a leading metrology and manufacturing-solutions specialist (
www.hexagon.com) — has acquired sole ownership of Licom Systems GmbH, a German distributor of Alphacam CAM software for woodworking, metal- and stone-cutting applications.
The company will operate within the Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence division as part of Vero Software, maker of Alphacam and several other production software solutions.
Based in Aachen, Germany, Licom was founded as a joint venture in 1996 with the aim of developing and marketing manufacturing-support software.
In 2011, the company holding shared ownership of the business became part of Vero Software, which was subsequently acquired by Hexagon in 2014.
Licom Systems employs 11 people, who will continue to support the Alphacam product within a new business unit of Vero Software serving Germany and other German-speaking regions of Europe. Licom Systems CEO Stephan Schneider will manage the new unit.
Hexagon has also acquired ProCAM Srl, an Italian distributor of CAD/CAM solutions and complementary software. Founded in 1995, ProCAM is a reseller of the Edgecam and Radan solutions from the Hexagon-owned CAD/CAM solution specialist Vero Software.
ProCAM joins Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division and will operate within the Vero organisation.
Initially established as a dedicated reseller of Edgecam, ProCAM has expanded its offering to include Radan as well as complementary production software packages.
Based in Padova, Italy, the company employs 15 people and supports an extended network of sub-resellers serving
the wider Italian market.
