West Yorkshire-based BCA Group (
www.bcagroup.co.uk), an electrical-components manufacturer, is planning further growth after completing a £2.7 million purpose-built distribution warehouse and factory.
The new facility has provided 30,000ft
2 of space for subsidiary Pennine Leisure Supplies and is helping BCA to continue the growth of its caravan, motor-home and leisure accessories distribution division.
The investment, which included a £200,000 grant from Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, is expected to lead to 21 new jobs over the next three years in roles ranging from marketing to warehouse, assembly and manufacturing.
Adam Slater, managing director of BCA, said: “The support from the LEP has been invaluable in ensuring this project went ahead and was completed successfully.
"We’re delighted with the new production centre in Copley, which includes a ‘state of the art’ guidance racking system that has improved our productivity.”
The company was established in Mytholmroyd in 1981, as a caravan accessories distributor, before moving to Lowfields Business Park in 2001.
It subsequently expanded and diversified into the manufacture of harnesses and other ancillary items; today, it is a leading manufacture of wiring systems and electrical components for the caravan industry and employs more than 150 people at three sites in Calderdale.
It has now embarked on a further expansion project that will see its manufacturing capacity increase by another 7,160ft
