The British turn-key production solution provider Geo Kingsbury (www.geokingsbury.com) has been granted a licence to sell and service its principals’ machine tools in the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) region.

A new wholly owned subsidiary called Geo Kingsbury Machine Tools DWC-LLC became a legal entity on 8 May and is based in Dubai.

It is headed by regional director and general manager Neil Harrington, who has long experience working in senior management positions in the Middle East.

The machines being marketed are from Gosport-based Geo Kingsbury’s three divisions: LPM (large prismatic machines), MTG (milling turning grinding) and AM (additive manufacturing); they are being offered for sale in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait.

Richard Kingsbury, managing director of Geo Kingsbury, said: “We are delighted to be up and running in the GCC. Our strategy will be to transfer to this new market the same business model that has proved very successful for more than 60 years in the UK and Ireland.

“To facilitate this, we will be recruiting and training sales, applications and service engineers.”
