Staffordshire-based JCB (
www.jcb.com) is in pole position to support Williams Martini Racing, as the team tours the top European Formula One circuits this season.
Four machines have left the factory in Rocester on a 9,000-mile summer road trip to help the JCB-sponsored team in the build-up to race days.
A Teletruk telescopic fork-lift truck will off-load race components — including the vital engine elements and garage kit — before each race and help with the post-race pack-up.
In addition, an S1930E scissor lift will help with the construction of a three-story ‘motor-home’ comprising nine 20ft containers, which is the base for the drivers, engineers and support staff at each circuit.
Meanwhile, two JCB G150RS generators will provide power for the motor-home, which includes meeting rooms, rest facilities, a roof-top hospitality suite and a kitchen where hundreds of meals are prepared each day.
Edd Hood, JCB’s head of sponsorship, said: “Behind every great racing team is a great back-up crew.
JCB has the perfect range of equipment to support Williams Martini Racing — machines that provide the muscle to build the team’s temporary home and generators that power it.
"There is real synergy between Williams Martini Racing and JCB, each offering engineering excellence on and off the track.”
