Bromsgrove-based Walter GB Ltd (www.walter-tools.com) has extended its Paradur HT tap range to include an HSS-E series for dimensions UNC 1/4-UNC 1 (for deep threads up to 3.5xD).

Featuring straight flutes, axial through-coolant and a TiN coating, these tools have a specially designed edge geometry that is said to facilitate excellent chip breaking, even in long-chipping materials.

This helps to eliminate any ‘birds nesting’ of swarf, thus aiding process reliability.

Suitable for machining ISO P materials with a tensile strength of 700-1,400N/mm², and for ISO K materials (especially GJS/GGG), the new tools are aimed at users in the energy sector, as well as general engineering.
