Coalville-based Matsuura Machinery Ltd has appointed Joseph Bellis to be an additive manufacturing sales and technical specialist.

He joined Matsuura two years ago as an applications engineer based primarily at the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry, to focus on Matsuura’s Lumex hybrid metal-additive machine and — more recently — the HP Multi-Jet Fusion machine (www.matsuura.co.uk).

Prior to joining Matsuura, Mr Bellis worked in the manufacturing industry as a CNC programmer/machinist and mechanical design engineer for the aerospace, defence, marine, oil and gas, automotive and medical industries.

He said: “It’s a hugely exciting time to be in additive manufacturing; as an industry, we have barely touched the potential of what can be achieved with AM.

"Our range of additive 3-D printing machines challenges the conventional methods of manufacturing, by printing plastics or printing and milling products in a variety of metals.”
