Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft from across Europe were on display last month as part of a major celebration to mark the 100th anniversary of the Finnish Air Force (the Finnish Air Force Centenary Air Show in Jyväskylä).
Demonstrating the strength of the Eurofighter as the core of Europe’s air power, aircraft from the German, UK, Italian and Spanish air forces were lined up in a static display for the 30,000 people at the event.
Eurofighter partner companies BAE Systems, Airbus Defence and Space and Leonardo — alongside team members from MBDA, Rolls-Royce and Eurojet, as well as representatives of the UK Government and partner nations — presented a European Eurofighter showcase to the public and visiting dignitaries, while military, political and industrial delegations held discussions with the Eurofighter team throughout the event.
A Eurofighter from the UK Royal Air Force took to the skies on both days to demonstrate the power, speed and agility of the multi-role combat aircraft.
Alan Garwood, BAE Systems group business development director, said: “We are extremely proud to have played a major part in honouring the centenary of the Finnish Air Force.
“Our team from across the Eurofighter companies and our partners worked extremely hard to showcase the aircraft.”
