A joint venture between Alnwick-based Pure Fishing, which owns the historic Hardy brand, and Northumberland Estates could see the development of a purpose-built manufacturing facility that will include a new head office, a showroom and a retail complex for the world-famous brand with a global reputation for its rods, reels and fishing apparel (
www.uk.purefishing.com).
The new facility would be on the southern outskirts of Alnwick, adjacent to the A1.
Pure Fishing is one of the largest employers in Alnwick, with more than 100 staff at its current site on the Willowburn Trading Estate, but these facilities are no longer fit for purpose.
The proposed new premises would allow the company to expand.
