Record-breaking day at Slough

Record-breaking day at SloughBurlescombe-based XYZ Machine Tools (www.xyzmachinetools.com) officially opened its new showroom at Slough on 12 July with an event that drew customers from far and wide and resulted in a record-breaking day for machine sales.

Managing director Nigel Atherton said that the showroom was a hive of activity from the moment the doors opened at 9am.

“This was the best one-day Open House we have ever held, with over 50 companies taking the time to visit our new showroom and see what was on offer. By lunchtime, we had already taken orders for 15 machines, and the afternoon proved just as popular, with a further eight machine orders, taking the total value of sales to just shy of £800,000.”

This new showroom is located off the M4 motorway, and it is within a 2hr drive for most customers in the South East and central England.

It is available for customer demonstrations and training, and it houses a wide range of XYZ machine tools, including a selection of ProtoTrak-controlled mills and lathes, along with Siemens-controlled machining centres and turning centres.

Mr Atherstone added: “The attendance at this opening event shows that we have selected a good location — one that will allow more customers the opportunity to easily see demonstrations of XYZ machines, as well as receive training once they have made a purchase.”
