MAN Energy Solutions has been chosen as the solution provider for two power plants in Bangladesh, with a total of 15 MAN engines to boost energy generation capacities in the rapidly developing country.

The first plant is currently being erected in the Chittagong District and is scheduled to commence operation in 2019.

Operated by Anlima Energy Ltd, it will be powered by six MAN 48/60 engines, each generating 20.7MW and feeding power into the country’s national grid.

In addition to the engines, MAN Energy Solutions will supply auxiliary equipment and will supervise the construction and commissioning.

The second plant will have a total capacity of 167MW and operate nine MAN 51/60 dual-fuel engines. It will be built in Mirsarai, and the end customer of this project is BPDB-RPCL Powergen Ltd.

The 51/60 DF engines can be operated on either liquid fuel or natural gas. BPDB-RPCL is already operating a 150MW plant with MAN 51/60DF engines in Kodda, Gazipur.
