Northamptonshire-based Great Central Plastics (www.promotional-plastics.co.uk) is celebrating its 29th anniversary.

Winning a large contract from McDonalds in its first year established the company as a serious contender in the UK manufacturing market; by the time the contract came to a close, it had produced over 30 million items for this client at its 10,500ft2 facility.

Since then, the company’s high-profile clients have included Petit Filous, Jaguar, Mercedes and Gordons Gin, so it has vast experience of working closely with customers from design to creation, manufacturing bespoke and complex plastic products.

It has even made items for film productions, including Paddington Bear.

Darryl Brown, technical director and board partner at Great Central Plastics, said: “We are delighted with the success that we’ve achieved over the past 20 years, working with local and international companies to provide promotional products, automotive plastics and plastics for industrial use.

“We’ve managed to obtain a strong client base and have enjoyed the challenge of producing complex bespoke work for some of the world’s most recognised brands.”

The company is one of the few plastic manufacturers in the UK that can produce two-shot injection-moulded products, which gives it a distinct advantage.

It was founded in 1998 by managing director Tony Phillips, who had 10 years’ experience in the plastics industry; he immediately brought on board Mr Brown, who came with 15 years’ experience in tool making.

With a 20-strong workforce, the company can deliver high-volume contracts.
