Doncaster Sheffield Airport hailed as best in UK

Doncaster Sheffield Airport hailed as best in UKDoncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA) has been declared the best in the UK by Which? magazine for the second year in a row (and the fourth time in total).

The airport has seen an 80% increase in passenger numbers over the last three years to 1.3 million per year, with over 55 destinations now served.

The Which? survey was based on over 11,000 passenger visits to UK airports and considered everything from the queues at the bag-drop point to security.

Most notably, the airport’s staff were awarded five stars for delivering excellent customer service. Passengers praised DSA’s short queues, good facilities and speedy baggage reclaim process.

This comes hot on the heels of its recognition in July as the favourite UK airport of Saga plc customers.

“DSA chairman Robert Hough (www.flydsa.co.uk) said: “This has been a strong year for us, with the announcement of long-haul TUI flights to Sandford, Florida, and new Wizz routes to Hungary.

We have expanded to over 55 routes, with many more in the pipeline.

“The overwhelming support for our draft master-plan showed how much customers, businesses, airlines and local partners value the contribution that we make to the region.

“They are right behind our plans to grow, including our push for a rail connection.”
