Doncaster-based Polypipe, which manufactures plastic piping and ventilation systems, has acquired Warrington-based Permavoid in a deal worth up to £16.5 million. Permavoid is a designer and supplier of surface-water management solutions for commercial, residential and sports pitch applications.

It has provided solutions for many large urban water management projects throughout Europe including the redevelopment of Orlysquare in Amsterdam and the recent redevelopment of Liverpool Football Club’s Anfield stadium.

Polypipe (www.polypipe.com) currently manufactures and sells Permavoid’s products under licence in the UK and Irish markets. Martin Payne, CEO of Polypipe, said: “The acquisition of Permavoid is a small but important step towards delivering on our strategic goals.
