First flight for Turkey’s T625 helicopterTurkish Aerospace Industries’ T625 multi-role helicopter successfully completed its first flight on 6 September at the company’s site in Ankara, Turkey.

The first prototype of this 6-tonne light-intermediate helicopter completed its maiden flight after several ground tests.

During the 20min flight, the aircraft performed as expected with regard to general handling, plus the transmission and rotor systems.

The T625 is a new-generation twin-engine 12-seat (plus two crew) helicopter designed for military, paramilitary and civilian purposes.

It features ‘state of the art’ avionics, plus new-technology transmission and rotor systems designed to provide exceptional performance in hot and harsh geographical conditions.

Turkish Aerospace ( says it expects the T625 to open up a range of export opportunities in markets world-wide.
