3-D printing start-up receives fundingAlready well-known in the 3-D printing industry for its Print to Product work-flow, the German post-processing specialist DyeMansion has secured $5 million of Series A funding (the name typically given to a company’s first significant round of venture capital financing) to expand its global business and extend its portfolio.

Developing a ‘ground breaking’ finishing technology for achieving injection moulded surface quality on 3-D printed polymer parts is DyeMansion’s next major milestone (www,dyemansion.de).

CEO and co-founder Felix Ewald says he is confident that the new funds and the strategic support of UVC Partners, BTOV Partners and AM Ventures will help DyeMansion to grow and to reinforce its status as a technology leader in the industry.

“With AM Ventures and our new investors, we have found the right people and expertise to accelerate our global roll out and to develop more technologies and industry 4.0 solutions.

“To have such experienced partners on board will help a lot along this journey.”

Within the past three years, DyeMansion has won more than 400 customers world-wide that are already benefiting from its technology.

These include BMW, Daimler, Under Armour, HP, Shapeways, Materialise, FKM and many more.

Philipp Kramer, CTO and co-founder of DyeMansion, said: “Thanks to our customers and partners, we have learned a lot about the demand for the digital factory of the future.

"With the new funds, we will expand our R&D capacity in order to raise the bar in post-processing automation and to provide the best possible end-use part finish for every application.

"Our new system for getting completely smooth surfaces on AM plastics will demonstrate our capabilities.”

DyeMansion was founded in 2015 and offers a variety of high-volume finishing systems designed to transform raw 3-D printed parts into high-value consumer and industrial products.

The company’s technologies complement all major industrial powder-based 3-D printing systems, including EOS, HP, 3D Systems and Prodways.
